At Torani, every bottle delivers not only amazing flavor but tells the story of extraordinary partners who help bring our vibrant offerings to life. From Sierra Mountain snowmelt to the sugar refined across the San Francisco Bay, the ingredients we source are rooted in the land and community we are proud to call home. The next time you add a splash of Vanilla to your latte or a swirl of Raspberry to your soda, you’re not just enjoying great taste — you’re savoring a piece of California.

It All Starts with the Water

Water isn’t just an ingredient in creating great flavor, it’s the foundation. At Torani’s Flavor Factory in San Leandro, California, we’re fortunate to be powered by what is widely considered some of the purest municipal water in the United States.

Our primary water source is the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, nestled within the pristine wilderness of Yosemite National Park. Fed by snowmelt from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the water makes a 160-mile journey through the Hetch Hetchy aqueduct system to reach the San Francisco Bay Area. Along the way, it passes through granite, naturally filtering it for purity.

The clarity of the water we use is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our flavors, enhancing every flavor note, from bright citrus to rich caramel. This clean, mineral-rich water not only supports the daily life of over 2.7 million people, but the production of every bottle of Torani syrup.

    A Sweet Partnership

On the opposite side of the Bay in Crockett, California, the iconic C&H Sugar Refinery has been operating for over a century, much like Torani. C&H, or California and Hawaiian Sugar Company, is another vital ingredient in our recipe, providing us with high-quality 100% pure cane sugar.

Unlike other sugar producers who blend cane and beet sugars, C&H is committed to non-GMO, all-cane sugar. This promise not only supports a cleaner label but results in a smoother, more consistent Brix, or sweetness value, that enhances flavor without overpowering it. Torani is proud to work with C&H, another local steward of great quality consumer products.

Keeping sugar local also helps us reduce our environmental impact with fewer transportation miles and a smaller carbon footprint. In line with Torani’s “Flavor for All, Opportunity for All” core value, we are proud to also be creating support for local jobs and building community resilience.

    Ingredients With Purpose

From the Sierras to the sugar in Crockett, every element that goes into Torani ingredients reflects a commitment to quality and community. These two valued partners are just some of many carefully chosen suppliers that bring our flavors to life. Torani flavors are crafted with intention, connecting every pour to people that have worked hard to keep us going for over a century.

So the next time you stir a splash of Torani Hazelnut Syrup into your espresso or craft a Cherry Lime Italian Soda at home, remember you’re sipping on the best of California — thoughtfully sourced from our community to yours.
