COVID-19 sure put a twist in things for graduates this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t put together a fabulous graduation celebration from the comfort of your home.  Let’s get started on the event planning, shall we?

Celebrate with the World

Create a yard sign and let the world know that you’re celebrating your graduate!  Make sure to send an invite out to all your local friends & family so they can join the celebration with a fun caravan, complete with decked out cars, honks & waves

Decorate to Celebrate

You’ve taken the time to decorate outside with your festive yard sign, take things a step further by decorating the inside of your house to make your graduate feel extra special.  Order some 2020 balloons, create a nice tablescape for a celebratory lunch or dinner and make sure to order some fresh flowers, in your graduate’s class colors, for the centerpiece.  Cupcakes from your favorite local bakery would be a great idea for your small, intimate group: mom, dad, graduate and sibling/s.  Make those cupcakes extra special and festive by creating a fun topper using a simple design program like Canva.

Sweeten things up with a Handcrafted Soda Bar

Soda bars are so easy and festive! Not to mention - who doesn’t love a custom, handcrafted soda topped with whipped cream?  To carry over the color scheme, consider focusing on Torani Syrup flavors in your graduate’s class colors.  Check out Tidy Mom’s beautiful graduation soda bar below.

To put together your handcrafted soda bar, here’s what you’ll need:
  • Torani Syrup - your choice of flavors + pumps
  • Sparkling water or club soda
  • Whipped Cream
  • Ice
  • Cups
  • Paper straws in class colors
To make your handcrafted soda:
  • Fill cup with ice
  • Add 2 TBSP (4 pumps) of Torani Syrup (you can even mix and match flavors)
  • Fill with 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Top with whipped cream
Consider leaving your bar up for the weekend to keep the celebration going.  Nothing will need refrigeration and your graduate can enjoy as many sodas as she wants

Plan a virtual Graduation Party & vote on those class superlatives!

Chances are that your yearbook had to be mailed to you, which means your friends weren’t able to sign it and those class superlatives may never have been voted on.  We have a solution for that!

Plan a video chat using your favorite platform - i.e Zoom, Google Meet (currently free to use), Facetime - and vote on those class superlatives! Check out our list below for inspiration and remember to keep things positive and kind!
