Dad’s are cool - we all know this.  smiling face with sunglasses Every year on Father’s Day we plan fun celebrations where we gather up dads, grandpas, father-figures and the like to partake in fun activities to celebrate their existence (and for giving us life!)  The COVID-19 outbreak has put a spin on how celebrations will look this year.  While some states are beginning to ease up on shelter-in-place mandates, many local businesses will still not be open, at least not at full capacity, by Father’s Day.  Therefore, while we typically would have planned an afternoon golf tee-time, backyard BBQ gathering, lunch at his favorite restaurant, mid-day matinee or tickets to his favorite summer sporting event; this year we’re all being challenged to get a little more creative with how we’ll celebrate dad.

Whether you’re hunkered down with your dad at home, or not, here are 3 Tips on how to safely celebrate him while still adhering to social distancing guidelines

Plan a Socially Distant Lunch

We’re going to bet that you’ve packed your pantry full of fun ingredients to experiment with.  Recipe searches are on the rise these days due to the shelter-in-place mandates which swept the country back in March and April, so we think this would be a great opportunity to cook up your dad’s favorite lunch spread.  Consider packing it up in a picnic basket and taking the picnic to the backyard!  If you’re planning to invite a couple of people over, remember to setup your spread so that everyone is able to maintain their distance.  An alternative would be a drive-by caravan so family and friends and honk and wave to celebrate dad automobilesport utility vehicle

Order Coffee Beans from Dad’s Favorite Local Coffee Roaster

Mom’s aren’t the only fans of coffee hot beverage️  If you want to make him feel extra special, consider ordering fresh roasted coffee beans from his favorite local coffee shop/company.  COVID-19 took a serious toll on our local coffee shops and cafés; use this holiday as another opportunity to support local businesses!  If dad doesn’t have a coffee grinder, ask your barista if they would kindly grind the beans for you.  Alternatively, you can also get dad a coffee grinder.  Take this idea to the next level by putting together a Father’s Day Coffee Care Package and fill it with a mug and some Torani Syrups! This gift idea is sure to move you up to Dad’s #1 spot on his list of favorite children winking face with tongue  If you need some help picking out some flavors for dad, we got you!

You may even consider making dad an afternoon coffee drink to go with his lunch! Need a recipe? Check out these fun ones, perfect for a picnic outside on a hot day:
