Add Low Carb Flavor to 2017
It’s January. The New Year has been rung in, the streamers have been cleaned up and thrown away, the champagne has been drunk and hugs and kisses have been given out to those closest to you. Now what are you going to do? If you’re like thousands of people around the country, you’re probably thinking about starting a new diet to cleanse yourself of the excesses of the holiday season.
The problem with diets at times can be the daunting feeling that you’re going to lose all flavor, that eating healthfully won’t be as satisfying as eating otherwise. That’s where you would be mistaken. Eating healthy doesn’t mean a moratorium on flavor – and, most importantly, it doesn’t mean giving up Torani!
Torani Sugar Free Syrups are a great way to flavor protein shakes, healthy snacks and refreshing teas and keep yourself on that healthy road without sacrificing deliciousness. Sweetened with Splenda, Torani Sugar Free Syrups have low-to-no calories, granting you the sweetness and flavor without the guilt.
Here are a few ways Torani can help you on your road to a better you.
First, let’s start with a few protein shakes - all great additions to any LCHF (low-carb/high-fat) diet you may be considering in the new year, such as Keto…
Vanilla Chai Shake
A perfect drink to help kickstart your morning, this shake has no carbs and lots of protein. An ounce of Torani in the shake is enough to help your body turn into that fat-burning machine it so badly wants to be.
- 1 cup (8 oz) low-fat milk
- 2 Tbsp (1 oz) Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
- 1 bag Chai tea
- 2 scoops Body by Vi shake powder
- 2 Tbsp (1 oz) water
Pour water into microwave-safe mug and microwave for a few minutes on high or until very hot. Remove mug from microwave and add tea bag, steeping for several minutes. Remove bag and use a spoon to squeeze excess tea out. Add milk, Torani, tea and Vi mix into a blender. Blend until incorporated and serve cold. Drink and enjoy!
Sugar Free S’Mores Protein Shake
What’s great about this protein shake, besides the yummy flavor of graham crackers, marshmallow and chocolate is that it has absolutely no sugar or calories & is so perfect for that 3pm snack attack!
- 3 Tbsp (1 ½ oz) Torani Sugar Free S’Mores Syrup
- 1 packet Vanilla VHP Protein powder meal replacement (or any protein shake mix)
- 2 cups ice
- ¾ cup water
Combine protein powder, Torani, ice and water in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!
Now let’s take a break from the protein shakes…
Torani Peanut Butter Cookie Balls
This recipe, for no-bake yummy peanut butter cookie balls, is a good snack packed with healthy fats and nutrients. It’s so simple & easy to make, you can whip these up in no time and enjoy them after an intense workout.
- ¼ cup Torani Sugar Free Belgian Cookie Syrup
- ½ cup creamy natural peanut butter
- 2 Tbsp rolled oats
- ½ cup + 2 Tbsp nonfat dry milk powder
- ¾ crispy rice cereal
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and stir together. Roll the slightly sticky dough into about 1 ½ tablespoon-sized balls with your hands. This should make about 12-14 balls. As the balls absorb the Torani and Peanut Butter, they will become less sticky and more solid. Once they are done, please enjoy!
Cherry Sweet Tea
There is nothing like the taste of a sweet tea to energize you. This recipe has all the hallmarks of the summertime favorite with none of the calories, so it’s perfect to drink while relaxing after your workout or jog.
- 9 cups water
- 1 cup Torani Sugar Free Black Cherry Syrup
- 6 single black tea bags
Add 3 cups of water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add the tea bags and boil for one more minute. Cover the saucepan with a lid and steep for ten to fifteen minutes. Toss the tea bags and add Torani. Add to a dispenser or pitcher and add the rest of the water. Add ice, serve and enjoy!
Light Raspberry Refresher
The combination of tea and lemonade is irresistible, and this Torani twist makes the classic concoction even fruitier and healthier. Enjoy this while you’re resting up after a hard day’s work.
- 2 Tbsp (1 oz) Torani Sugar Free Raspberry Syrup
- ½ cup (4 oz) brewed tea, chilled
- ½ cup (4 oz) lemonade
Combine chilled tea, lemonade and Torani in a tall glass filled with ice and stir. Drink and enjoy!
If you are choosing to go healthy in the new year, congratulations! It is a wonderful goal and completely worth the time to reap the benefits. Just remember that you don’t have to forget Torani along the way during your journey.
Happy New Year, everyone
